Temporary Closure Week of 29 September; Classes Are Online
Monday, 28 September 2020 – Downers Grove, IL
The University of Aesthetics & Cosmetology in Downers Grove has discovered that an individual, who was in our school over 1 week ago, has tested positive. We strictly follow Department of Education guidelines regarding identity protection; so we are unable to release the name of the individual.
We have informed all students via text & have held discussions with our faculty to move their lesson plans online. We are following our policy which means that our school will close for 1 week & re-open next Tuesday, 06 October 2020. This only applies to our Downers Grove campus.
Our policy is based upon CDC, IL, & generally accepted health guidelines.
On Monday, 28 September, we received approval from our accreditor that students will receive credit for all hours earned this week via distance education. Our students will not miss the opportunity to continue on their path toward being employed!
Unfortunately, all hair, facial, & nail appointments are cancelled & will need to be re-scheduled. We apologize for the inconvenience.
We are closing this week so that our employees & students can self-quarantine & be aware of any symptoms. If any exhibit symptoms, we ask them to get tested. Since the person who tested positive has not been in our school in over a week, we believe this precaution is in the best interest of our University of Aesthetics & Cosmetology community.
Yesterday, according to our policy, we deep cleaned our school in addition to the regular cleaning service we employ.
Administrative staff will be in the building for administrative purposes intermittently during the week.
Thank you for reading this post. The health of all of our students, employees, & our community remains our highest priority!
